Fundraising Coffee Morning

Wednesday 12th February

9.30am to 4pm

at Bridport Leisure Centre

Bridport Leisure Centre will be holding a community coffee morning, raising funds for Dementia Friendly Exercises Classes, that are held at the centre each week.
The event will take place throughout the day, when tea, coffee and cake will be available for a donation, there will also be a raffle, with tickets from only £1.
Do join us for tea and a chat whilst raising funds for these important sessions.
Dementia Friendly Exercise Classes are open to those living with dementia and their carers.
Participants enjoy chair exercises to help mobilise and keep the muscles working, this helps to stimulate brain and neurological impulses.
This is followed by singing and dancing to keep minds active and maintain cognitive function.
The sessions, that take place each Tuesday from 1.45pm to 3.15pm, also give carers a chance to meet up and chat to others in a similar position.
Ally the fitness instructor who takes these sessions explains: “The classes are so beneficial, during these sessions the participants join together to move,
talk and socialise, whilst getting them out of their home environments, which can be very isolating.”

If you would like further information on the classes please contact Ally: [email protected].
These classes were formerly funded by Bridport Dementia Friends, but funding has sadly ended.
This fundraiser will help to keep these valuable sessions going.
If you can help by offering a cake on the day, a raffle prize or to lend a hand, all donations and help will be very gratefully received.

We look forward to joining with the community for this fantastic fundraising event.
